My Rosey is a 65 valiant with a super 225 and a three speed tranny. Problem is that when i am shifting from 1st up to 2nd, the gear lever will just call out of gear. Nany ideas fo an affordable solution to this issue?

Never had a 3 spd, but since nobody else answered, I'll throw out that most shift linkages, both auto and manual in all cars that use solid rods, have nylon bushings at the joints that get brittle and fall out, causing slop. For many, you can buy replacement bushings or improvise.

That would be an A903 top-loader with side mounted shift levers. Ima gonna guess the detent mechanism inside the tranny has failed. To prove this you will have to get under the car and disconnect both shift rods. Then move the levers, one at a time and feel the spring pressure that is supposed to be keeping the selected gear, engaged. If the levers are flopping about, then the tranny will need to come down.
