I just finished butttoning up the TTI exhaust system on my 71 Swinger. Everything seemed to go together great but the shifter linkage binds from neutral to drive (wont go into drive). This is a colomn shifted 904. Any ideas? Im pissed. I specified the proper exhaust manifold casting # as well (340HP).

Did you check engine placement in the chassis?. You may need to shim or replace motor mounts if they are old to get the engine in the correct position.

torque shaft is above the exhaust manifold pipe(close) so if the motor came up with a new mount I don't think that would work.

Solved, rotated the linkage block(I think that is what it is called) and put the rod back in upside down, WTF it works.
