My wife and I drove out to Riverside National Cemetery this morning to participate in their "A Flag For Every Hero" Memorial Day event and joined in with hundreds of other SoCal locals to place a US flag on each of the almost 270,000 grave sites. Amazingly, RNC goes from no flags to being completely covered by flags in a little over an hour. It's quite a site to behold.
Anyway, on the way back home we stopped at Costco to pick up a few things.
After leaving Costco I swung past the local McDonalds to take advantage of their $1 soft drinks. As we pulled around the corner we could see one of their young workers stopping cars before they entered the drive-thru. Some cars pulled out of line and left, others continued on through. When we got up to him he told us that this McDonalds was out of hamburger patties! At 12:30 right in the middle of their Saturday lunch rush on a holiday weekend! Unbelievable!
I bet he was their newest employee and didn't even get to draw straws to see who had to go out and tell customers "no burger today".
