Does a used 727 with no converter have any value?

I dont have the slightest idea if it does...

as always, thanks.....

Shane

Shane, the tranny could have some cash value or it could be just a good core for a rebuild. The key part to this is the 17 digit code for the tranny to ID the uit as to what it is and what it came out of.Normally on the side og the tranny, either above the oil pan rail right side you can find a ID code,or on a stamping pad same side on the bell housing. There are even 2-3 other locations for serial numbers and build dates on the casting. If its a rare 1970 unit, its worth cash to the builder of a 4406pack car or hemi car,its might be a regular 727 for a big c body car, worth only core money.if you post the numbers or email them to me,i will decode and tell you what the tranny came out of,mrmopartech

Look at the ID boss, pass side of bellhousing. Maybe get the PK numbers off the pan rail.

With the PK numbers I can look up the original application for the transmission.

Most BB 727 cores run 75-100 around here. SB 727's are a bit harder to find.

ok thanks guys!

I only asked because I came across a 440 with a 727...

when I go look I will get the numbers...

I am not completely done my first project, and I am dreaming of the next one. I have a spare 833 laying around from round one, so I would use that with the 440 on whatever car I find far down the road when my money tree in the back yard starts to blossom...

if it is jsut a regular 727, I will see if the guy will just take a hundred off and keep it..

thanks again for the info...
