V belts? Is there a preferred brand?

The motor is going in this week and the belt I used for the break-in is very old. Is there a brand or type of belt that is best, or one that should be avoided. 512ci RB. one belt for fan, alternator and water pump. I searched and there is not much info on the board about it.

I sold Gates when at the speed shop. Good stuff. We switched to Dayco and I wasn't impressed.

Can't go wrong with Gates hoses and belts as far as off the shelf stuff.

Never was a fan (get it?) of dayco belts.

Gates always usually Napa or Car Quest.

NAPA belts have never failed me.

The old solid v belts were much better. I break new belts a lot anymore. Doesn't matter what brand. The new ones with teeth are only about a 1/8 inch solid thickness.
