valve springs for my 340 j heads.

Well Me got a quote for my comp cam 280 480 + lifters what springs should I ask for.My heads are the 340 j heads.Will the stock springs be ok.I do not plan on spinning the 360 past 5 grand altho i would like to.the rpm range of this cam is 2500 to 6500.any thoughts or tips.

use comp spring 901-16

Call Comp and ask them what they recomend you run with that cam. They will know better than anyone.

I'd go right back to MoPar and asked them for there spring that is recomended to be used with that cam. I don't have the part number right on hand now, but you could do some research yourself, try manciniracing.com and call them up for the correct part number for the spring.

Sorry, my bad, I thought it was a purple cam, WTF was I reading? I don't know, but just change it to say "I'd go back to Comp Cams and get there matched spring."

Thata ok rumblefish I did just that and 70aarcuda was right on with the spring number.Man I am getting closer to geting that 360 in.when I fire it up it will be with open headers, ya baby .
