Hi All,

I'm installing a 318 and 904 in my 66 dart roller. I dont have any of the hardware needed to do this and would like to avoid a hundred trips to the hardware store. I'm looking for bellhousing bolts, engine mount bolts (and brackets), starter bolts, Accessory drive bolts (and brackets) ect.

Thanks in advance

Go buy a pound of each size then return what you dont use! Man way to many variables here each one is different.

Try R/T Specialties, he has alot of that stuff in kit form. I have bought from him before and would again. He is located in Falls Pa.
Good luck. Bobby

And it's important to remember you have an Early A Body. Do you have all of your front-end in the car that came on it factory? If so nothing wrong with that, go with a dual pot master cylinder, disk brakes and add a sway bar , nothing wrong with stock A Arms, more troubles with tubular style

All sorts of consideration on installing that drivetrain. Year of engine and trans, oil pan, exhaust manifolds, motor mounts, brackets, pulleys, water pump/radiator match, etc.....

Do you have any hardware for it or do you need every single nut and bolt? Is the motor and trans. currently together?

I bought it as a roller. I have a 904 and new rear end for it. I may be picking up an engine for it soon. The suspension is totally intact. Essentially what I need are the nuts and bolts for everything in front of the transmission crossmember.

If you are saying the center link is not the same for V-8 and slant six, you are incorrect.

1966 factory parts book, link is illustration 19-27-50.
Valiant/Dart part number 2269 359 for both 6 cyl, and 8 cyl

1965 parts book
Valiant/Dart part number is 6 cyl.... 2072 571
V-8 ... 2269 359

I said it should (from the factory) have the dropped link but after all these years it could have been changed

As a replacement part, I agree. Since the V8 drag link fits the 6cyl, there was no need to make two replacements, so, they just used the V8 version for all parts requests. The factory bars on all the '66 6cyl A-bodies that I have owned ( 9 of them) all came with the 6cyl draglinks.

This is what I understood about the center links.
64 six cyl had the "standard link", and V-8's had the dropped link.
65 six cyl had the "standard" link and V-8's got the dropped link. But during the model year the factory started installing the dropped link in both.
66 got the dropped link in both 6 and 8.
I have 2 64 Valiants in my yard, and both have the "standard" link. Either car could have had it swapped in a prior life.
1965 Valiant that I have had since 1974 as a 170 slant six car. Has the dropped link. I have never changed it, and unlikely prior to me.
1966 Valiant has dropped link with a 225 slant six. However I got the car from a junk yard about 1999, so who knows.

OK. I think we have hijacked this thread enough. Plus I forgot this is a "wanted" thread. We can continue in another thread if necessary.
