Vented Differential?

I guess on the driver;s side of this 8 3/4 differential the hole I found is for venting? Does some kind of threaded fitting screw into that hole, and then a hose of some kind? Thank you.

Not crawling under mine at the moment but your right it is a little vent stack. IIRC they say to drain 8 3/4 differential if it gets submerged (ie used in a boat launch or deep azz puddle) so the vent has no check valve.

I have seen a hose on fords but not on Abody mopars
 
The vent IS the bolt that holds the brake line block there.

The mounting bolt is hollow for venting, the cap is loosely crimped on so it can vent & keep objects from directly dropping down inside.

The 60+ whatever Mopars I have owned over the years have all had one of some type regardless of rear end size or year.

Are you referring to the vent or to a vent hose attached to the vent? My comment was that I haven't seen a vent hose attached to a vent on the Mopers I have seen but I have on the fords I have seen.
