I was able WITH HELP (mainly my buddy Jerry) to get the car out yesterday for some test hits on the new motor, trans and suspension settings. IT TAKES A VILLAGE. All footbrake passes, 32 degrees timing, old carbs untouched from the old motor. First pass after the burn-out from 'idle' it has a lean stumble on a dry hop 'test' so, I wasn't expecting much especially with 13.5lbs cold in the slicks. I put it up about 2500rpm, it hooked hard and just carried the front higher until i decided to lift as easy as I could but it still set down hard. After all looked good I rolled back into it to test out my alignment etc. Collected a 1.22 60ft/6.2x @ 105 and not sure where I lifted etc. But it went straight all the way like never before. Even the wheelie bars didn't steer it. I set the front shocks to full tight which was about 4 clicks. We looked over the car and motor and now I was as nervous as the first hit especially because the car in front of me wrecked. Again not sure I floored it and held it but it went 1.21 60ft and a 5.47@125+...i have all 3 runs on video I'll post asap. It was a GREAT day and outing/learned a lot.

Oh yeah that's rippin for sure

I am happy to see you back in the saddle.

What mph are we
looking for in the 1/8? 125 is cooking, especially on an easy pass.

Can you elaborate on the suspension changes?

Nice to your hard work paying off!

Thanks! There's probably a 130 in it I'd hope. Mainly the front end/bumpsteer making it as good as possible with as much Caster as possible with this junk MF aftermarket K kit.

Very nice passes. I get some of these builds mixed up. Can you tell us about your combo again.
"480" Indy -1/Ti intakes MCH cnc, 840 net lift, Indy T/R 2 850 baseplate 750 airhorns calibration and parts by Thumper carbs, TD rockers, KB low-deck block 4.5" bore, 14.5cr, Dry sump, home made 2 1/8x4 headers It's about 2700# now and I have to weigh 2835ish for my class

What class are you going to run.

GOOOOOOD **** !!!!!!!!

Are you going to be hitting this with some nitrous. I’m guessing the 2835 weight is NA heads up.

Yessir...our local track Milan Dragway has a once a month (Saturday) "Heads-Up" race with about 5-6 different categories ...I'm doing All-Motor which uses NMCA NA10.5 rules. Ima sitting duck but I'm just trying to have fun with some friends and basically use hand-me-down/obsolete parts. There are about 8 potential cars that can show up and run 7.8's but lately they've only had 6 cars for a 6 car field.

I am not familiar with the 480 cylinder head from Indy what is different from -1

I'm using the common -1 head with some good porting and machining for the good TD rocker system. Just a misunderstanding because the way I short-handed my description.
Those heads are definitely next on my list.
30 years from now when I can afford them
