Ran inside to get my camera. Came back out and the owner was just getting in to leave. "Not without pictures you don't". 4sp. 46K miles. Unbelievable. Last month, a mile from my house I spotted at a 71 Hemi 'Cuda convertable. lemon twist, white billboard, white top and white interior. One of six produced. Not as clean as this RR. It appeared to be a daily driver. A well kept one. Now..if I could only figure out how to download photos off my 'smart' phone. Maybe I should buy a lotto ticket.
So after taking pictures I told the RR owner that I had a Mopar in the garage. So we walked back across the street, removed the car cover and he just smiled. "fire that bad boy up". No problem I retorted. After a couple of pumps on the 800CFM performer she fired up and loped big time. "340" I say. He just smiled and said "I wouldn't tangle with this one". So I say..'how about a trade?" Well we both laughed and parted ways. But not before he stated he owned a 69 1/2 440-6 M code Superbee, F6? Green, and a 70 Hemi Challenger. His dad owned a Chrysler dealership in Ontario in the early 70s. Nice day. He never heard of Spring Fling. Isn't SoCal great?
