Hey folks...I'm still working on converting the 1966 Barracuda 273 from a 2bbl to a 4 bbl. The proper 4bbl kickdown linkage is not available. Someone has suggested that the linkage from a 340 cc 4 bbl can be adapted to work in this situation. To quote (see image):
"This is the 3 piece kickdown setup for a 4 bbl setup on a 340 cc engine. The bell crank, bracket, and lower 2 linkage pieces are the same as the 2bbl setup, the difference is in the upper lever that goes from the bell crank to the carb. It has a bend rise to reach the taller 4 bbl carb. This is standard stuff from 67 on, except for the upper rod, which is a 340 piece. Incidentally, the early linkage with the paddle bracket from 66 is known to lock up because it doesn’t have the slider end at the carb. The sdjustment for the early stuff is in the up and down linkage piece, the rest work like a hard line linkage and can lock up making a full throttle situation. That’s basically why they went to the 3 piece design. Included is a picture of the 3 piece installed on my 66 Commando equipped 273 Signet."

I am looking for the lever that goes from the bell crank to the carb. Anyone have a 340cc 4 bbl kickdown linkage lever as shown in the pic?

Fyi, I used our 273 4bl linkage on current 340. Its not 340 specific. There are different variations of that piece you need. Lots of times when 340 is mentioned that jacks up the price.

It is just threaded rod. Add a section or make a new one the correct length. It’s not rocket science.

I have a complete set but will only sell that way if you want to PM me.
