How about this for a bad day on the job. Driver just gets back from full day on the road, parks truck. 15 minutes later we're up changing to get out of work and we hear a pop noise. We look out the window to this.
After investigating we found the Positive Battery cable broke free from its tieback strap and rubbed through the engine ground and sat there just arcing and glowing red hot till it melted the diesel line feed.

Glad noone was hurt, hopefully not totalled out by insurance.

Dam, that truck has a kick @ss heater...

That's why you gotta pay attention to where you route fuel lines and electrical lines...

Glad no one was hurt.

Did you guys at least get to make a few smores???

What was that an International 4300?
Man it took out the Refrigerant system in front of the box too !!!
Glad no one was hurt !!!

fire plus diesel = lots of smoke..fire + Gas = lots of boom! Wow, was that reefer propane cooled?

Lack of proper maintenance maybe?
no mullinax not lack of maintenance on our fleet... the trucks are serviced every 12000 or 90 days. it was a intl 7600 with a cat c11 and allison auto. they are known for the battery cables to rub through the factory loom at the frame tiebacks. this one just got transfered to us from hatfield, pennsylvania ( so there may have been a lack of experience down there as to checking the routing of cables).
bad factory design 4 4/0 cables 2 pos 2 neg tied together and ran next to the frame near diesel fuel lines.

no diesel 4 cylinder motor r404 refrigerant. noone got hurt but the firefighter probably SHI* his pants when the tire blew while he was fighting it. While it was burning we moved the 2 trucks back next to it and it took the hair off my arms. nearly burned my SMORE'S on a stick..

Happy noone was hurt.Man those milk trucks have changed since I helped my Dad on his route. No more 5 and 10 gal metal cans to throw up into the truck.

Geez that's a major factory flaw! Enough that the company should recall!

That milk wasn't spoiled, just warmed up, so you can put it in bottles and feed the baby... :crybaby:
