Was Your First Job at Minimum Wage?

-
Working flat rate at a body shop for $5.00 an hour 1972. It was considered a great job. The guys working for me now make $33.50 an hour 40 hours a week. No flat rate, boy how times have changed

Consistent, paid job??

Pumping gas. I don't think I knew there was such a thing as minimum wage. I do know that Mr Morone would dock my pay if I didn't ask the costumer if I could check their oil.

my first job was at 11years old, selling subscriptions for the Washington Star, worked about 6 hours a week in the evenings and made about 48 dollars a week on average. Had lots of friends for some reason  this was around 1975

When I graduated in California from high school in June 1973 I went to work (for the next 20 months) at a Chevron station while attending Community College (Auto Technology classes mostly). I was always paid minimum wages which were $1.65 hour during 1973 and then $2.00 after that. Oh, I worked six days a week so maybe I was paid time and a half on Saturdays (can't remember for sure).
