Water pump on a 318

Can anyone tell me if a water pump on a 318 spins the opposite direction if it has a serpentine belt. I had a big block Chevy with serpentine belt and it spun differently than one with regular pulleys.

Ok , that’s what I was thinking. So if I change to regular pulleys, I need to change the water pump ?

Yup. I don't even know if one is made to fit the magnum style timing cover

I think u can run a LA timing cover, but u will have to do a search to see what is involved. Kim
