water pump question on slant 6

this is strange ,the water pump impeller on my reman pump is opposite of the one that was on my engine is that ok? or should i use my old pump? i know it worked ok i'm going to try to post a picture of them on here .

The same question came up a month or so ago, so maybe some "wrong" ones got into the supply chain. Somebody said the "wrong" pump is for Chrysler marine engines (or industrial?). They probably ran the belts differently, which turned the water pump reversed. Both would work, just a little less optimally perhaps.

I'd say when it got rebuilt someone put the wrong impeller on it. I wouldn't use it.

It's definitely not a marine pump, marine engines don't use that style water pump

i bought a new autozone pump and it has the impellor the same way as the original pump .its definitely strange.
