Karrin and I lost one of our best friends Robbie Bright. Robbie was a daredevil from Day 1. He left our small town in pursuit of a racing career right after high school. Robbie was rookie of the year in Gainsville Florida in the late 70's and continued racing into his 50's. We found an old you tube clip of Robbie Racing Sebring in 1989. Robbie's race team was Team "Scrappy" because he was always making it on his own with limited sponsorship until Lucky Strike picked him up. There are not words to describe how much Robbie will be missed.

Nothing or no body could stand out then a racer, you was blessed to have known him I am sure, I send out my condolences to you and all his many friends and family, I say he accomplished his dream and more, to do what you like in life and compete against some of the best like he did he had to be a proud fellow.

Thanks Mike. I will be visiting with his son this week when he returns from Florida. After Robbie retired, he moved back to Sheldon Illinois. He bought an old home in town large enough to accommodate every bike he ever raced, (that was not smashed beyond repair) with his leathers, helmets and racing boots. I hope to take some photos to share of Robbie's career that is housed inside his personal museum.

That would be great Jeff, I would hope his son would hand off a pair of shoes, or helmet or even a wore outcand abused suit for his dad's friend, I bet he has some old winners circle pictures even.. I am sure you will be there for his son like I was with my old friend Terry (Hippie) Sevener, his sister called me from Ohio and asked for my help with his hot rod stuff, I stopped a couple people from low balling her on an A12 Super Bee, a member here drove up from Florida and bought it, a jerk was there and offered her 6.500.00 for it.. of course my friend here paid 12 grand for it and I asked the fellow to leave (trying to rip his sister off) I didn't have money to let go of but it felt good to stay busy out there for 8 days..
 
Gift from his sister to me, and a few trophies she let me pick from, a finders fee from our member here he demanded I take.

Gifted me the Philips 66 sign.

It's my hope that his sons will allow us to share Robbie's significant contribution to the racing world. I have Robbie's Florida License plates from an old factory Hemi B body Charger he owned. He also gave me an old Harley dirt bike that he restored, but I'm not going to get in the middle of his sons as they will probably want it. It is still in his house with the rest of his collection. I'm cool with just knowing he restored it with us in mind. Karrin has the license plates packed away somewhere for safe keeping. I'll see if I can get her to dig them out and post a picture. I really just need to mount them on the wall of our garage.

Thanks Crackedback...I'm sure Robbie would appreciate being in the memory of a fellow racer. He was a humble small-town guy. We used to jump an old bridge out in the country when we were really young. I mostly just watched Robbie as he was fearless on a bike. He would hit that old metal bridge full speed on a little 90 Benelli much to the amazement of all of us that weren't as nuts as he was.
