We’re finally doing it!!

Do they make a set of wheels like that for us old guys?
Following your build. You are on the ball! We did it 23 years ago. It was stressful, but totally rewarding.
You probably know way more than me but, make sure you get what you want. We read a book back when, and the author mentioned that when you build your second or third house, you'll get it right! I can understand her thinking. We only did it once, and there were things we wish we did differently.
Also, write down everything. You won't be able to remember all that went on. I kept a daily diary, but it wasn't enough.
I video taped our house being built, there's a few things I wish I had done differently but it came down to being able to afford it

Yeah, it’s the red rechargeable wheel chairs haha

The diary is a great idea! I guess I can recap using this thread but I’ll definitely work on that asap! Thanks!!!

Knock on wood, so far with some tight budgeting and great contractors, we’ve actually been able to not only stay on budget but it’s allowed for some upgrades. Course I only had 6 years of planning to make that happen and hurdles to overcome but so far it’s all lining up.

Something that really helped me in the long run was to take a ton of pictures before the drywall went up.

When I needed to add extra outlets, I knew where the wires were. I have not had plumbing issues but if I did I know where the PEX runs and where the connections are.

Also, I ran CAT6 for cameras in the attic before it was insulated.

Your place looks awesome!! Congratulations!!

That's cool

Well we came up with a very crazy idea… no plumbing, no heat. Yet, we loaded up everything and decided to spend Christmas Eve in our new house. Only gonna be 57 over night and with our extensive camping supplies, we’re doing just fine. Merry Christmas everyone
