Has anyone tried welding the fender extensions? I know they are metal but will they MIG weld?

If I understand the part you're referring to, they're cast pot metal. Can't mig weld potmetal.

yeah thats what I figured. I need to modify a set and I don't know how to move the metal around on them.

Can you cut them to shape and then weld them with a special alloy rod?

Like that alumiloy stuff? I'd really hate to do the mods out of fiberglass and bondo.

I fix pot metal fairly regularly with Muggy Weld Super Alloy #1. Get a couple of pieces of scrap pot metal to practice with first but it's really fairly simple.

Cool I'll try that stuff. I want to move the area around the bumper to make it look like the bumper is hugging the extension.
