I was going to buy a front sway bar kit and some sound deadener for my barracuda but it looks like i need rear coil overs. I had bought and installed a RMS rear suspension a few years ago. I just now (finally) got it road worthy. To make a long story short the coil overs are bad already with maybe a few miles on them. So much for driving it.

If you bought the Streetlynks kit from RMS, call them and ask to speak to Bill Reilly directly .

He is a very fair guy to deal with and may help you out with this.

I got ahold of RMS and he contacted ridetech about my rear coil over. I just sent them out to be rebuilt. Not costing me a dime

Glad to hear you got your problem sorted out.

I have had a similar experience with RMS.

Stellar service.

UPDATE Ridetech sent me new rear coil overs. I got them installed and boy what a difference. It rides nice

Great to hear this Wayno.

A lot of times we will hear members on here ***** about defective products or services but they never take the time to contact the manufacturer /owner of the business they are dealing with to inform them of a problem and give them the opportunity to correct the issue. (too used to crappy Chinese junk ).

I find that most times, they are pretty reasonable.

Some companies I have dealt with personally that this applies to:

RMS Suspension Systems.

Detroit Muscle Technologies.

Brewers Transmissions

Moparts North

Rock Auto

Year One

I bought front struts from Rock Auto and paid a trusted mechanic to have them installed on my non-Mopar and a front end alignment (normally I'd install them myself but there was a foot of snow on the ground and I don't have a garage to work in). The struts lasted less than 100 miles and did $2000 worth of damage to my car. Hitting normal pot holes so hard that the front hubcaps both popped off and flew into the ditch, headlight busted and I got pulled over by the state police that night and ticketed for a busted headlight, twisted frame, busted dashboard, shredded the new front tires, front end out of wack, steering wheel is now 20 degrees off straight, struts are leaking, and now the double cost of sending the old struts back, buying new struts from another place, installation, front end alignment, buying two new front tires, mount and balance, and time lost from my regular job because I had to run around and do a simple job twice. Words can't express how angry I am about this. But the bottom line is: Rock Auto ripped me off and I'll never use them again.

Did struts actually come in the box? For something to do that much damage how could they have even looked like struts or even fit? Were they just steel rods with no absorption?

They were normal struts. The point is, parts prices are going up, and quality is absolute garbage.... I also bought MOOG front wheel bearings that lasted a month before they destroyed the front end on my other car... But that's another $1500 story...

Nah man. Normal struts don’t bust headlights, pop hub caps off, twist the frame, destroy the dashboard and shred tires. Something isn’t right with what you’ve described so far.

As for the price of parts going up, regardless of the part/item, it’s called inflation. Chocolate bars are no longer a dime and haven’t been for decades.
