Worked my *** off the last week trying to get the 'so called new boat' ready for a buzz on the water. I fired the 35hp up in the barrel with no prop and I THOUGHT it was hitting on "all two." I get to the lake, and it's only running on 1 hole. Does not seem to be the coil, seems the coil is not getting driving voltage from the CD box. Of course they are sealed. Damn thing ran GREAT last year.

LOL I know. Last thing "I figured" is that 35 would give trouble. It ran flawlessly all last summer. I was tired and beat this afternoon. Maybe I'll have a different take by tomorrow. Looks like the wx girls may have over forecast, "I don't see" the nice day tomorrow that they forecast this weekend. By Wed -Thurs it will cool back down and rain.

I guess we could add "transom" to the list of "tits, tires and tracks". At least u were able to get out, all public launches are closed here.

Just right this instant heading outside with a Fluke to do some testing. 'We'll see' lookin to be a decent day here high in the 60's mayb bang on 70F.

Well it appears to be the CD box. I had bought a complete junker except for the cd box, and got it to fire briefly when I bought it, on the CD box off THIS engine. So I knew the coils and stator/ mag were good. So i dug the oily mess out, hooked up the CD and some spark checkers, and same thing. It's not a coil nor is it the stator unit. So now we get to wait for a new box from www

Is a 2 holer a wasted spark? My 2cyl honda was a common coil with 2 leads.

No it's individual coils. 'The books' are not terribly clear on how it differentiates 1 from t' other as there is only one trigger. Bear in mind this is a 2 stroke, one fires "up" while the other is down. you can't have wasted spark the way these are set up

Box is about 70 'all over' the internet so availability seems not to be a problem.......quality, tho, might LOL

Spent the day trying to get a handle on an old 55 10 hp. it pumps water, but only fires on one. That will be easy. I have parts, and know how to work on them. Carb looks clean but might be another story, it seems "fussy"
