Was their first 2 Summit races. Mother nature was being a *****. Sprinkle here, rain there. Couple time the cars in the lanes were pulled on the track to keep it dry. Derek and his crew did an amazing job on the track prep...

Will post some of the Mopars that were there as I edit them...they were running 1/8th mile. There was this wild sounding Duster there, the announcer said it had a big 2G HEMI in it. Think he was running mid 5's.

For some reason I am really starting to like B & W.....the guy that owns the Daytona....the car was his dads....was a former multiple class champion car...

Derek has asked me to be the track camera guy.....he made mention that he really likes my images and that he thinks that I will be good for his sponsors and track....I think I am the first camera guy that has been there that has a web site...I took the time to type a reusable block up that has all of his sponsors...with links to the ones that have web sites...Problem is Renegade is a tick or two under 4 hours from me....fixed income, fuel + hotel it is going to be tough for me to swing...I was talking with a friend that knows Derek and his wife Sara, she told me that I just need to talk with them....something I am not real good with.....

Don’t expect to get paid anything. He’s been known to be a tight ***. Instead make up some business cards and give them to the racers. Offer pics for a price. I have some of your pics of the Lemon Twister

Not doing this for $$, doing this because I like drag racing and like photography. And to try and help promote where ever I go and their sponsors. I have had more people then I care to remember ask me for images...and then have them not follow thru...or better yet start asking for sizes that require using a high end print shop and then have them tell me that is to much $$. Had a local guy insist on 13"x19" prints. Took me a while to find a printer that offered this size. They wanted $30@print. Tried to explain to him that a 12"x18" at Costco, delivered, is under $10. He insisted...he wanted 10 prints.....

I did hand out a bunch of business cards. Probably have a few emails...but I am so behind in things that I need to get done that I have not checked my email in weeks....

The Daytona Looks like an old Sheldon Gecker car.

I asked Chris about this...
"Jim Hail had the car built in 89 by Joe Smith Racing in Texas. Mike Booker later wound up with it. Him and Dave Wren we're kind of partners on it. Booker was the wallet man. They raced it in SSAM until 2000. Dave traded Booker out of it towards the end then he broke it and parked it for 18 years until I came along and put it back together."

Booker actually told me about that car when I mentioned I had seen it at SCR the week before. He had pictures of it on his wall. Pretty cool.
