What’s a fair price? 69 GTS

-
Imo, it seems value is drastically different between I want to sell, I'm selling, I want to buy, and I bought threads.

When I bought my first a-body, told I'm an idiot who paid too much.
Well guess what, I put 10 times that into it in the last 17 years and it looks exactly the same.
Who's laughing now.

Yeah values subjective for sure. When I bought my purple car the difference between 1-2k was crazy, I could never. Now I am in a spot where I’d rather pay a little more, not haggle over a couple bucks, make a friend and save myself the headache.

Haha mine too with how my cars look! First thing I did with my purple car was redo the brakes… well I’m doing them again…. My copper car still needs a paint job… hopefully it goes in soon.

Did you use a knife or a gun when you robbed him?

It was a buddy, he said he was thinking of selling it and said the price. Say no more here is some money. I like 340s. Soon I’ll be the old guy with the 20 engines on the side of the barn collecting dust and rust that everyone gets mad at.

I’m not mad I just love the valuations here, some of them are about 10 years in the past still though. I bought my purple one for 8500 7-8 years ago but around here you can’t touch good non rusty cars for less than 20. Unless you want the less desirable year cars. I just paid 850 for a clean 340 block a month or so ago and was ecstatic.

With a clean Magnaflux I hope. I would think you would know to look at the x-rays before you started to work:lol:

This 69 gts just sold in calgary in june for low 50s cdn. So about 40k usd. Original 383 code car but now with 340. Beautiful car and about perfect. Working backwards, the one you are looking likely 5-10 max.

5-10k for a 69 GTS mostly rust free. Ok
Not saying you would get it for that and maybe 5k an insult. But it is simple math, and a few posting earlier already did it. 40k for a really nice once completed or 10k + 30k+ to restore. Anything higher and you are upside down if anyone cares about that - many don't. Bones may be good but it needs a lot of work unless you just plan to fix up and drive. Even Haggerty has Fair Condition value at under 20k for auto and that is running and driving and market is soft, project cars even more so.
