Unfinished Coddington built 66 panel. 426 hemi, 727, Currie rear. Was being built by Boyd’s when he passed on. Just as it left Boyd’s shop. Been stored indoors. Needless to say custom everything, the frame they built has airbags and designed to sit all the way down. Pretty much the only thing original Dodge is the body. Started out as a black and white owned by City of Los Angeles. Have pictures of that. Have complete documentation of build including a letter from Jo to the man that they were building it for , apologizing that they would be unable to finish due to Boyd’s passing. That man who I purchased it from said he had previously bought 22 hot rods from Boyd and obviously were good friends. Over $184,000 In receipts so it is pretty far along. It appears that they were just starting to disassemble it for paint as the Headers have been removed but you can see where they were clearanced for steering column. About the only thing not there to complete is all the glass but does have the gaskets.

Custom fabrication mechanics special. Just mocked up for the most part, and everything will have to be be custom fabbed. Probably Zero market for a custom 56 Dodge truck. You would need to find a buyer with deep pockets to fund the completion. And a signed contract.Otherwise it would have been finished by now.
Worth more in parts, especially the engine 99% of its total value at this point.
If it was the same year of Chevy or Ford truck, lots of interest. Dodge truck .....no
Dodge trucks were almost totally butt ugly in the 50's through 90's. Exceptions A-100, Power wagon

cool truck but that's gonna be a whole boatload of money and work to finish.

on a shoot from the hip, i'd call it: whatever that hemi is worth and then probably 10~15K

yes there's provenance there, but that project is also a long, long, long way off; and there is two big ol' elephants in that shop: paint and fab work. which will just burn thru the dolla, dolla bills, yo.

so let's call that something like mid 20's on up to low 30's.

I wish I had the skills myself to finish this but that’s why it’s still exactly how it was when it left Boyd’s. I’ve got good mechanical skills but not so much on paint and finish work.

I happen to like those trucks. Better, if it were a window van. I'd say all-in...30-50K. That looks like an early crate 528. They were notorious for issues. I bought 2 wounded ones...

I'm glad I'm building my last project.

I don’t have the $184k into it myself but the guy he was building it for did. I bought it from him. He said he wanted to build something from Dodge year model 66 that they didn’t offer a hemi in and put a hemi in. He gave me a tour of his airplane hangar full of his collection, everything was first year models.

No I’m actually thinking about selling it and I’ve seen the wiw posts on here before so I thought I’d throw this on out there and see what you guys think. Not a quick flip, I’ve owned for 16 years now. I’m no judge of Boyd only know what I saw on American Hot Rod, his tv show , but I can say he’s built some pretty bad *** lookin hot rods and made a name for himself in the business or we wouldn’t even know who he was.

It's worth what someone will pay for it, if you can find a few rich dudes that love that model of truck and a big fan of Boyd and willing to out do each other probably get paid well, short of that it really depends, it's all about finding the right buyer, I'd find out if there is a club based around those trucks and start there.

I'm afraid you came to get answers but many in the FABO community had a really low opinion of and see no providence in anything by a jerk such as him.

The bottom line is, that it doesn't matter WHO the vehicle was affiliated with. What it's worth is what comparables are going for and what someone's willing to pay. Period.
