What a dilemma!

11% of A-bodys in 72 had GY4 paint in 72. In 73, 1.3% had black paint.

In 72 they made 21,187 /6 Demons, 7,818 318 Demons and 10,222 340 Demons.
In 73, they made 11,315 340 Sports.

I have seen only 2 black 340 cars. One in Ohio had original paint.

Do the math, a black 340 Sport is a lot rarer than a GY4 /6 Demon.

Do what you want and have fun!

ask yourself,

"Why is this guy willing to trade a nice clean straight car for one needing paint"?

The Demon even as a 6 is worth more than a Dart Sport. More desirable Demon and you have installed the V8, the 340 Dart does not have the number matching engine either, who cares if it was a 340 car, it is no different than your Demon with a transplant engine. Now things being equal, the Demon is worth more.

Paint it and then enjoy it

If cash were included then it might be a good trade, any offers to you should be in your favor not theirs.
 
Maybe keep your Demon (and your wife) and then paint the Demon black.
KEEP THE DEMON..........
