Karl, By Rani posting the title "what are these nipples for ??" in the general discussion forum instead of the Slant 6 Discussions or the Mopar General Discussions, it sure seems you were baited in to this one. She would make a good politician.

By the way in the Slant 6 Discussions this is a pretty detailed thread with good pictures on the intake.

i put all my threads in general ....and no way ...no one was "baited in" the title matches the question and thread content .....plus Mr. Karl throws in a giggity giggity everywhere but thats why we all love him and hope he continues sharing with us.

he is more than just a pretty face ....there is actually a engineer brain behind those pretty eyes of his. :D:D Giggity Giggity :prayer:

you guys are funny ....and its alright because the thread served its purpose because now i know what "those nipples are for" which are actually "hose fittings" but i didnt know that before :D

he didnt send an intake manifold but sent a header which i think is a Clifford also but im not sure. my cousin disassembled this car years ago and he was going to restore it but then the project went cold and he never did anything with it after he got his career going .....so it has sat in a garage for yeeeears ....and now he told me to put it together and finally sent some money and parts to do it because he wants it for next spring/summer....he is getting married and wants this car to "in" the wedding......so i said "OK" lets do this.

Holly molly, how many projects do you have sitting down there and how many garages do you have access to???? LOL Nice clean looking Dart.

I notice that nearly everybody who says "plug em" lives in warmer climates. You might just find you can get by with this, and you might not. Up here I would not want to plug them. I can still remember (interestingly also) a young woman with a Chev 6 in a pickup with headers, and that damn thing was a bear to drive even in somewhat warm weather. Rani if you want to learn what this "is," Google up stuff like aircraft carburetor heat, carburetor icing. This is known as the "refrigeration effect." Anytime you run a gas (air, in this case air and evaporated gasoline) from a high pressure, high velocity to a low pressure area, the temperature changes radically. Especially in wet (humid) weather this can be a problem. "Snorkel" carburetor air cleaner heat helps I'm sure you've used air tools. You'll notice they get cool, not hot. This is because of the air blasting through them and dumping out the exhaust actually DOES drop in temperature.

X2 I sure as hell wouldn't bypass them in our climate. It gets pretty damn gold even in southern Colorado.
