What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I'm sitting and waiting for the rest of the Plum Crazy Demon parts to show up (outer rocker, rocker end cap, both front frame rails, torsion bar crossmember, hood, front fenders, front fender end caps, grille, grille ends, bumper, bumper mounts, hood latch upright assembly, firewall). They're all paid for. The parts received already are sitting and waiting to be installed but can't be installed until the other parts arrive (full floor, inner rocker, torsion bars, etc.)

Ambitious, I'd say. Good for you!

I started on my 67 Barracuda a while back, putting in a hotter cam hoping to get in the 12s (ran 13 zeros through the mufflers with a .450 lift cam, 3.55 gears; new cam has 10-12 degrees more duration, and about .040 more lift). I know there are other things I could have worked on, but wanted to try the cam first. Anyway, I got the cam installed a couple of weeks ago but didn't have everything I needed to degree it in (see #12,434). Then my wife fell out of bed and injured her leg. Trip to the ER. Later, it got infected. Early stages of sepsis in fact. Another trip to the ER, huge IV bag of antibiotics plus prescription for same. Still another trip to the ER, followed by couple visits to wound care and home nurse visits. Good news is that she is now recovering nicely.

Anyway, during a break in all this a while back, I degreed the cam. Supposed to be installed at 106, I got 103. The crank sprocket on my Tru Roller chain that is new and never used, but I bought several years ago now, has three keyways - zero, 4 degrees advanced and 4 degrees retarded. I pulled the timing chain, moved the crank sprocket to 4 degrees retarded, and put it back together, thinking I would degree the cam again just to make sure it was now correct. So today, I finally found time to do it. I got 106.5, which I figure is just about spot on.

Took the 71 out to a local cruise. First time it's been out since early May - time flies! Brought it home and snapped a pic in the driveway before putting it away.

Made it out to another cruise-in today! This one is called Utica's (the city it was held in) Gasoline Alley. A few years ago all of the entry fees were donated to a local little boy with a rare brain cancer. Today that little boy is cancer free!

The Jaundiced GT and Wedgie (my buddy's '63 440) are waiting in the "staging lanes" for the gates to open at 8:00AM. Great day, even though it was hot!

Some new tires. All the wheels are Chrysler 15"x7" police wheels, part number 3766077.
Not all the wheels are black. The first five from the left are actually a dark blue pearl with blue and gold light metallic.

Part of the Woodward Dream Cruise festivities this week included Mopars at the Donut Cutter. Our club attracted and packed in a $hit ton of awesome Mopars yesterday (Wednesday).

This video contains 2 married couples with their cars:

Tim (FK5 Swinger) & Jen ('73 Dart Swinger)
Unknown gentleman (orange '69 Dart)
James (blue Duster) & Anne (lime Duster)

We had Darts from model years 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, no 1972, 1973, 1974, no 1975, & 1976.

There was also more HEMI cars there then I've ever seen in one parking lot. All in all I'd estimate 200 cars through the afternoon/evening.

If you ever come for the Woodward Dream Cruise be sure to come to the Donut Cutter the Wednesday before the actual Dream Cruise.

Enjoying the 30th Anniversary of the Woodward Dream Cruise at our favorite watering hole (the Blarney Stone Pub). It was a long week of "car stuff festivities" in the +90* sunshine. Thankful I was able to participate in the many festivities the motor city has to offer!

I didn't make it for even a minute, this year.
I wish the dickheads running the cities on Gratiot, would get their **** together. The possibilities to have the absolute best cruise
are endless. 8-23 mile roads. SO many great places for the deal. The East-side was happening into the 80's.
Woodward was magic, till the big-3 overran the general public.
Commercialism, ruins everything.

i did go to a little local car show ,still haven't drivin with the top up

Yeah, been hearing that 20+ years. I really think people are just too lazy to do the work and organize it. Just remember, lots of little governments....
