What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Made some progress on the Barracuda last night. Hood latch support & hardware needed to hang the front sheet metal and then the car is ready for final sanding and paint!

Finished plumbing the brakes, mounted driver's seat and bled brakes with the help of my loving wife!

Oh, and I fabbed a pushrod for the m/c.

Getting the garage organized and ready to go for tomorrow morning. An old HS buddy is coming over to lend a hand. The two of us havent spun wrenches together in decades. It'll be productive and fun to boot!. On the agenda is one or more of the following to-do items, swap old motor mount pads, replace the rest of the trans seals, check the converter fitment, button up the front pump and anything else that comes up. We should put a good dent in it if we can hold off o. The beers for awhile LOL!

Got them old dried up, brittle, motor mounts swapped out... then took my buddy out for a burger and a few beers. Caught up on all those years we missed due to life's ebbs and flows. Crazy how it was like we didn't miss a beat. Funny how it goes with true friends. Them bonds are as tight as ever. Great frigging day.

way cool!

well, Im still trying to figure out why my '03 Silverado 2500HD service body work truck sounded like it was dragging a cone under it when I made a right hand turn...? And the CEL is on...AND the fuel gauge reads empty 90% of the time...Sheesh! Glad I aint paying for it.

Started hacking away at my "Column shift" steering column for my floor shift conversion. Even though FABO has again shown me the way, I still had wicked sphincter lock for a while as I hit it with the cut off wheel until I got a few chunks off and could see that everything is right where it's supposed to be. Now - patience.....

Got the sheet metal all hung and aligned, door latches, trunk & hood latches in also. Ready for the final hand sanding with 600 grit. Then I will pull the front and rear glass to install the windshield trim clips needed to change it over to stainless pieces.... and then it's time for paint!
Really liking the colors!

Cut out the shifter bracket, mounted the wire bracket and shift lever for my B&M shifter on the trans and fabbed some mounting tabs for the shifter out of an old, rusty piece of scrap. I couldn't believe how perfectly they fit to the trans tunnel! All four stand on the tunnel with hardly any clearance anywhere. Dumb luck.

Finally got up enough courage to take the plunge and install the quarter panel on the cuda. So far so good. Everything stayed pretty flat. This was a shot at the beginning. Need to take another tomorrow since all the tacking has been done and it ground down smoothe. Just got too late to even think about doing it before I turned in.

dis-assembled the door striker, cleaned/ greased it.
decided to make the door hinges grease able.
slighted heated the door opening wheels(don't know what they are called) wicked never seize into them

tomorrow pull the inner and outer latches, clean and lube them (graphite)
dis- like doors you got to fight to open or close
