I am wondering what can to use for a future engine build. My parts that I'll be using so far are: 440 block, 440 Source stroker kit (500ci), Indy EZ Max Wedge heads, Indy Max Wedge 2 x 4 inline cross ram intake, tti headers. I want to drive this on the street so I'd like it as streetable as possible, only have access to 91 octane in my parts. There is an airport down the road, but want to keep it pump friendly. I'm not expecting an idle for grandma, or anything like a daily driver. What cam should I use? Am I nuts to try and build something that extreme for street use? I talked to Indy when asking about the heads and they wouldn't answer me about setting it up for street use, said people have, but would offer no advice. Any thoughts, good or bad, let me know. Thanks.

67 Dart 727 8 3/4 not sure what gear, have 3.23's or 4.10's. SS springs 275/60/15 tires. Using as much aluminum on engine as possible. Full interior in car.

Wow! That second one has some serious lift! I knew I'd have to go with a loose converter, still.learning about stall speeds etc. I think the first one listed is closer to what I'd prefer for dependability, if that makes any sense.

With that much arm I don't think you really need a "loose" converter. Even with that much cam a stroker still has plenty of torque. I bet a 3500 would be plenty if not a little much.

A 3500 convertor if done right is a great street convertor that will work at the strip. My 3500 acts stock.
