Hello all! I’ve been working on cars since my pedal car days. What is it about Mopar starter’s that makes you smile? Currently working on a 1966 Barracuda with a 273 v8. Finding the usual wire gremlins and things needing service. It’s a good little cruiser.

Hi welcome I too love the Mopar starter- best ever. I have a couple of 1966s - not working at moment on retirement project if I make it. Enjoy the process- almost more fun that getting through.

Actually I have never enjoyed working on a Mopar starter. I've probably had 50 GM starters apart, and a few Fords, and some other misc industrial/ tractors. But dealing with that damned solenoid internal wire is a PITA, and ESPECIALLY after someone "unknowing" has ripped it apart and broken the wire off short.

Welcome to FABO!! I love the sound of the old Chrysler starters. But...while swapping in a 5.9 Magnum into my 66 Barracuda, I went with a mini starter from a junkyard pickup truck. MUCH smaller and spins the engine with no issues. I do miss the sound though!!
