Not a mopar but I thought you guys would be good to ask. I have a little nissan 180sx as a project car (have a 73 dart too so Im still a mopar guy ) But wasnt too sure where to ask it.
Right now its just a shell without a motor or transmission. The car is small, and only weighs about 2600 pounds with an engine, and I want to know what kind of power plant would be feasible/interesting to use. The engine bay is massive, so a v8 can fit in easily.
The goal of the car is to make at least 500 HP so whatever goes in will have a turbocharger and a manual trans. The rear end is good as it has 4.10 limited slip rear diff, and can handle the power.
The options ive come up with are:
LS with twins
Toyota 2JZ with big single (Capable of making over 1000hp) and suuuuper easy to swap
But I was wondering if it would be worth it to swap a 5.7 hemi or something in there, would definitely be cool to see that under the hood. I already have to buy a standalone ECU anyways.
The goal is to have a track car and a street car thats a bit different. Ive dabbled with muscle cars and want to learn more about other types lol
