What do ladder bars do ?

Our 71 dart, 71 duster, and 71 demon have ladder bars and coil over shocks. Hook and goes straight

75 duster still 002/003 so springs..hooks too but is not as fast as the other 3.

Ladder bars are lighter then so springs.
 
my 72 dart went 10.6 with 002-003 SS springs and a snubber. car would have easily gone faster with that set up. just never got around to it.
 
There's ZERO need for ladder bars on any Mopar. Ever. Or any vehicle with a rear leaf spring suspension that's properly set up.
My Barracuda came with them when I bought it... I left them on for the cool 70s look only...lol

What "ladder bars" were designed to do in theory is to lift the front of the car, acting like a long lever, which in turn plants/pushes the tire down on the pavement. A traction bar at maximum efficiency would make the car do wheel stands.
Called Ladder bars because the look like a ladder. 2 semi parallel bars with cross bracing.

Exactly! They were used mainly for gassers and bracket racing. Now, in my opinion, mostly for nostalgia.
 
Rather than ladder bars and pinion snubbers that aren’t adjustable you’re better off with the assassin bars. They are far more adjustable than the Calvert bars and A Much better set up. I wouldn’t use a Pinions number on my lawnmower
