I have a camp that is not to far from civilization to go to when I want a break from the rat race and the kids. It has all of the comforts, full bath, electricity, full kitchen and hardwood floors. It sleeps 6 comfortably. I am really roughing it now-a-days. LOL. I can go on my atc right from the camp if I want to fish or hunt. When the weather gets cold, I can heat it with electric heat or my favorite, the woodstove. There is still a little work to do on the eaves, but for the most part the latest renovation is done. Here are a couple of pics.

Fish when i can, Mostly I hunt. We have a long deer season in Alabama, gun season starts one week before thanksgiving and lasts through Jan 31. We are allowed one doe a day and have a 3 buck per season limit. Also have a good many ducks. If you want to try deer (down south) sometime shoot me a pm.

The wife would shoot me if we had a deer season like that up here. We are only allowed one per season and unless you get drawn for a doe tag, it's bucks only. That is an invite that is hard to turn down and I will remember it. You guy's that are down south and would like to try moose hunting should apply for a New Brunswick license. Your odds of getting drawn are better than mine. Also, the pic above is where you would be staying.

That sure looks like fun Terry. I don't think I could afford the gas though.

My Grandma has a pond, so I get to fish a lot. I allso like to go ridding. And I have an R/C car that I have made a track for.

I just work on the car/truck for the most part. After a long day working on some really complex crap it's nice to come home and melt some metal, have a beer and stare at my projects and come up with new ideas and get them down in a notebook.

I'd really like to get up to my mom's cabin and fish but it's an expensive proposition with her being a 1000 miles away. She's 86 though and her time is limited. I should make plans soon. There's some good fishing here in Colorado too, but everything has been crazy busy lately.

I used to hunt too but it's hard to find the time anymore.

Working on the Barracuda is my primary R&R but I live on a pond and the wife and I like to kayak. I am also about 15 minutes from the ocean and have an oversand permit for the beach on my truck.

One day I will make it to Canada  I have been reading and seeing so much
about Canada, Yep Jack you have a great place there bud.=P~

But for know I do a couple trips to petit jean mountain a year.
but here at home I like to get out buy myself and keep an eye on my area
close to home and get some nature time in and hope on a great picture one day. I get my gear and start off in lost creek that is just 2 mile from me here on the hill. Tracking and treasure hunting for Indian rocks.
At night I like to watch for cats and coyotes and track them the next morning. If I find a heavy area of cat or coyote tracks I stay clear of the area and come back and settle in for the night down wind of the area.
With sharp ears and a full to partial moon it is a joy to watch raccoons wash there food and fight over crawdeads , mud bugs exetra.
Then when you see them run off its time to keep still and see what is on its way in to this feeding hole. Two beavers came up and sniff around and leave.
Then about a hour later I could here coyotes mumbling and a yelping to each other running my way. About 7 of them ran within 25 yards of me and stopped and stuck there noses up and sniff the ground where the beavers and raccoons where. They take off up the creek and make allot of noise yelping, i have not been back to the creek in a couple years.
know I spend time fishing and tracking next door on a cattle mans pasture.
Fresh fish and fresh air. Just a simple way to get some good R&R.:love7:
Last years pictures.
The very small picture is lost creek. I could not get a bigger picture up.

Well, I'm a city boy and just got back from a 2week sentence. um I mean vacation in NW TN and this is what I did...because I got bored.... The kids got a huge kick out of it and I even saw some people taking pictures with their cell phones on the drive home ( 900 miles ).. and I laugh every time I see it.. it was just your average coleman car topper but I can't sit for 2 weeks and not project.

I'm the guy that catches a stingray or an eel while fishing

I like to shoot at stuff.
I also like to fish, but my fishing buddy seems to have vanished. Not much fun by yourself....

A buddy of mine bought 4 acres about 30 minutes outside of town. It's got a mobile home and 30X60 garage on it. Also has a small pond that he has stocked. We go out there on the weekends to fish, drink beer and tell stories.

The wives don't really like to go out there, so they call it our boy's clubhouse.

Hunting and fishing take up a lot of my R & R time. Maybe I'll catch or shoot something someday. I like to go to camp whenever I get a chance, but it's probably closer to you than it is to me though. I was up there this past weekend, and just got home today. Tim

whats r&r, run and reload lol havent had any time like that in a while. I live work.

I am like a lot of you guy's. Even when I am on R&R time, I do tinker with various little projects I have on the go. But, and this is a big but, when it's time to sit around the campfire and drink beer, I can do it as well as anybody. hehehe

Tim,
Those are great looking mounts you have. Some of Maine's best there.

Burntorange70,
That is a nice looking bass!

player1up,
That is a great idea for a cartop.

Player1up, you went to northwest Tennessee and didn't call me?!?!?! Harumph!!!!!!! :-D

Everyone's get away places look terrific. Keep those pics coming.

I have a park model house in the Wisconsin Dells (hardly secluded) that my family and I like to go to. The house is in a resort with amenities like indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs, golf course, restaurant/bar, small fishing lake, and hiking paths. You get the idea. Mostly we use the swimming, it's year around. It's only two hours north of home and you'd be surprised the difference in humidity in the summer, it's really nice.
When we have a two week stretch in the summer we like to get up to Ely, MN to my wife's grandpa's cabin. It's very nice and rustic, not much to do there but fish, eat and sleep.
At either place I'm always tinkering or at the very least organizing stuff. Haven't had much time to go either place this summer due to caring for my 99 year old grandmother that now lives with us.

We go up to the cabin, I've been building it for 4 years, a local company did the log shell and another guy framed the roof and built the foundation. I wired it, plumbed it, etc., still lots to do. It's not as big as it looks but big enough to retire to which is the plan. Here's a nice winter shot

Nice river across the street to swim in, not much in the way of fish in there anymore unfortunately

Leanna, Apparently I spaced out a little.ok a lot.. I just realized, 731 area code is where I was at.... union city, UTM actually....I'll have to swing by the shop next time I'm up there. :)

All of the pics of the great outdoors are great, reminds me of vacations in the mountains of NC as a kid

I AM a dumbass..... I just looked up the address......I LITERALLY drove right by the front of your shop.......on my way to Jackson.... DOH

What is this R&R you speak of? I haven't had any time to myself in many years and to be honest it is starting to get to me. Eventually I plan on buying some land up north ( NH, Maine) for a get away but for now it will have to wait until I have that little thing called money. Besides I want my damn toy first LOL

I travel all the time for work, and as such, keeping busy when I'm not actually working is getting difficult. I read A LOT:read2:, and work on what small projects I can in my hotel room...such as building that beastly new induction setup for my slant

Looks like a lot of you guys have nice places to go and fun things to do. I'd love to run the dune buggy in the desert. I'll tell ya, I've always wanted to live in California, especially as a kid because they have all sorts of things to do year 'round. Oh well. I'm stuck in the midwest now.

Yup, that dune buggy looks like it would be a blast.

There is some very nice scenery in some of these pics to. Great looking places.
