I really need some honest opinions on weather or not this will work out for me. I have a 360 with the stock heads. I want to run a single plane street master intake and a 600 cfm Edelbrock. I figured for a stock motor this would be sufficient. I'm not going to have anything fancy done to the motor for quite some time. So will this be an O.K. set up with the stock motor???? I already know that if I had any other work done on the motor than this intake would be useless. Any opinions out there???? I'm also on a tight budget for a while. That is why I wont be doing anything spectacular with the motor for a little while. Then I'll more than likely dump this intake and get something more suitable for the combo I'll end up with. Thanks. Oh, I'll just be running a stock 904 behind it with a pathetic 7 1/4 rear and I wont be getting on it hardly at all because I already know exactly what the rear will do. Thanks.

So exactly what do you mean by small port heads? All 340/360's came with the same heads, just different valve sizes. With the exception of the T/A head which had relocated pushrods and offset rocker gear.

Basically the 340 heads had 2.02 intake valves until 73? i think and after that it was the 1.88 intake valve which is the same as a 360. Ports on all of them are essentially the same with some small differences like air injection holes on smog year heads etc and various small changes/tweaks to the ports. The 308 truck head has a radically different exhaust port that looks alot like a magnum and is actually the predecessor to the magnum.

Did you put 318 heads on your 360?

I don't know about a single plane on an otherwise stock 360. And I also wonder what you mean by "small port" heads.

My old 360 had the 1.88 valve heads and a single plane intake and it ran high 12's in a 75 Dart.

You will be giving up some low end torque with the single plane, but that might actually help save that 7 1/4. (good luck)

It is not the most efficient set-up but if that's what you got, then that's what you got. It might be a little sluggish down low with highway gears but otherwise it should run just fine.

Thank you for your honest reply. I need that. I have these items now. And I just cant afford to get anything else at the moment. So I'm glad it will do. Thanks.
