What is the best aftermarket a/c kit or is it easier to put in a factory setup?

I installed a factory (integrated) '65 Dart heat/AC system into a '65 not originally so equipped, and I will not do it again; even that same-model/same-year retrofit involved an enormous amount of difficult and invasive work. Too many differences in the firewall and underdash area...never again. Arizona Mobile Air can provide good quality, nice-looking evaporator & under-dash duct units and high-efficiency parallel-flow condensers (the only kind you should use). There is a compressor mount/drive kit available for the slant-6 commercially, but it's poorly designed and makes problems. Instead, get the more thoughtfully-designed mount/drive kit, and a compressor, from Charlie Schmidt. Have hoses made to connect the underdash components to the underhood components; use a nice large filter-dryer, upgrade your radiator and your cooling fan, have the windows tinted with good-quality film (I like the Llumar films; you don't need something limousine-dark that will compromise visibility and anger cops, what you need is one with good thermal reflectivity), and you'll be all set for driving in cool comfort.

I have a classic auto air in mine. Works good, took about a day to put it in, and retains the factory controls.

Like slantsixdan said......"Never again".
Unless your car originally came with A/C do not try and use a Factory setup.

I just ordered a Classic Air system myself. At the moment it is sitting on the garage floor waiting to be installed. It includes everything you will need except the refrigerant. At least that's what they told me. We will probably get to in within the next month or so. It looks pretty straight forward to install and even though it will work with your existing controls, I opted for the slick looking control panel replacement they offer and 4 in dash vents I will be fabricating into my dash.

looks like I will have to use Vintage air for my Cordoba.
