What is this for? Shifter bracket

Looks like an aftermarket shifter adaptor for a manual transmission. Doesn't look like anything factory.

It looks pretty good to be home made, but I suppose it could have been. I had a very similar bracket on my 833 O/D trans out of a truck. It made the shifter mechanism sit up a little higher off the transmission, I guess because the truck's trans tunnel is a little taller than a car's.

I don't think it's homemade because it has a # stamped on it, 8399 02 ?

160 dollars that is written on it does seem quite expensive though. lol

Actually, there was an Ebody Hurst shifter w/ Pistol Grip and shifter rods included with it...not a bad price considering what it's worth today.

Looks like a V Gate shifter bracket. Inline shifter bracket I think.
