1972 Dart Swinger. Found this in the passenger side fender under where the radio antenna would be. What is it? I could guess to hold the Radio Mast. But not sure. Any help?

It is the bracket for the antennae. Goes on the bottom side and the curve is so you can adjust the antennae where you want it pointing.

I got the idea so far. Why the spike tab on one side. What would that hold?

Yikes. Year One wants $25 for a replacement part. Thank god I saw it in the fender. 
Just ponder this for a moment... All A-body fenders didn't come with a hole until the car arrived at the dealer so an antennae would not get damaged or damage vehicles on top rack. The antennae came in the trunk and the dealership had some form of medieval torture device that, for all intent and purpose, destroyed a perfectly good fender in the dreaded name of R11 (the fender code for 3 watt AM radio). Oh, the Humanity!
