As someone who loves wagons and have owned a few (wood and no wood) I prefer no wood. Pics of a couple I have owned.
The burgandy one in the 1st 3 pics is a 1980 Plymouth Volare. The orangeish (actually painted 2000 Prowler Red) one is a 1977 Dodge Aspen. The grill is just blacked out. What is that second wagon there? Can honestly say I've never seen one before.

I voted for the Super Bee look with the Ramcharger hood. Do what you will with the powertrain. You have to live with it and feed it.
One of the photos of a red Valiant wagon gave me an idea to suggest. What about putting a Charger front clip on it (preferably a 68.) ? To keep costs down, put your existing grille on the Charger clip a'la the 69 Charger 500.
Rani, the R/T idea sounds great, especially with a 440, and so do the buckets and console! I've seen the buckets and console in a wagon before and if done correctly they look factory and way cool.
That's why I don't run a console in my Duster.yes, i would absolutely use only correct looking pieces....i have a strict policy against aftermarket stuff.....so no over sized racing seat or anything goofy like that LOL
the car is going four speed so i was leaning towards no console.......just like this pic of a true 68 R/T....same set-up ...same dash as pic ....a console would be easy to do with a 4 speed on a B-body ......but to me the console kinda gets in the way.......but it is an option ........its not like the A-body 4 speed console which is rare and overpriced.
I would bag her groceries...
