Hello A-body guys. I'm looking to update the front sway bar on my '67 Dart.
I'm considering Hellwig or Hotchkis, but I don't know which part number is best for my car.
I'm not sure about the K-frame, but it's been replaced with a QA-1 UCA and LCA. Does anyone know if it's from '72 or '73?
I live in Japan, so returns and exchanges are a hassle, so I want to avoid any mistakes.

Per QA-1:

Post up a picture of your K member.
The 1973-76 V8 K member offers what I think is the best design for motor mounts and sway bar mounting. The bar runs through the inside of the K member like so:

That sway bar is a semi-custom job I have used in several other cars. It is an 1 1/4" bar from a 1973-88 Chevy 1 ton 2wd truck.
Back on point. The 73-76 K member has the same dimensions as the earlier ones so It fits all A bodies from 1967 to 1976.
If you have the original K member, you are limited to a sway bar that bolts out in front of the K member.

Thanks for the reply. It's hard to see because it's not jacked up, but it looks like this.

Um... Something's wrong with that picture, but I can't put my finger on it

If you have the ‘67 K frame (or ‘68-72 for that matter) and you have QA1 LCA’s your only option is the Hotchkis sway bar for a 68-72 car.

The QA1 LCA’s have a sway bar tab position that’s basically the same as the OE 73+ sway bar tab location on the factory LCA’s. That make them incompatible with all the 67-72 sway bars that use the stock sway bar end link location. But you can’t use a 73+ sway bar with the 67-72 K frame because they don’t have the provision to pass the sway bar through the K like 73+ does.

The Hotchkis 67-72 sway bar though doesn’t use the factory 68-72 end link location. It basically uses the 73+ location. So you can use the Hotchkis 67-72 sway bar with the QA1 LCA’s. You will probably have to shorten the end links for the sway bar, but the tab location is compatible.

As far as I know, the QA1 sway bar only works with the QA1 K member, so that’s not an option with a stock K frame.

You're right, the QA-1 sway bar only fits the QA-1 K-frame. I only realized this after I bought it...
My car's sway bar goes through the K-frame, so how about something like Hellwig 55905?

Well if your current sway bar goes through the K frame, you do not have a ‘67 K-frame.

It sounds like you have a 73+ k frame, which would mean any 73+ sway bar would work. Can you post a picture of your K frame? From underneath and the engine mounts if you can. I was assuming you had a ‘67 K frame, but if your current sway bar works with the QA1 LCA’s and runs through the K it’s not a ‘67 K frame.

Oh geez, I didn’t realize these were pictures of your K frame! Sorry!

Yes, that a ‘73+ K frame you have. So yes, a Hellwig 55905 will fit that K frame and those QA1 LCA’s. That’s exactly what I run on my ‘74 Duster. I just shortened the end links to work with the QA1 LCA’s

Thank you, that was a big help. I'll buy it and try installing it.

There may be quite a lot.
Does anyone know? There was also a Mopar shop run by Kenji Okazaki, a former NHRA driver.
I bought my Dart at that shop.

I use the Hellwig w/ a 67-72 k and stock lower arms. Works fantastic. If you have questions...just call Hellwig. You will talk to a human that is very helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent product with great customer support. I have their rear bar on my car also.
