need some solid and knowlegable advise on what stall converter to use for a newly built motor. what i have is an original 340 duster that i freshened up into a 416 stroker motor last winter. the current converter is factory original and im assuming its not optimal anymore with the changes? ill list what i have and go from there. its currently set up as follows:

motor:
-1972 duster 340 to 416 stroker motor with eagle crank/rod kit
-summitt 750 cfm carb with vac secondary/elec choke
-edelbrock performer rpm intake
-stock X heads freshened up only"no port work"
-diamond pistons with 9.1 comp ratio
-comp cams XE268H cam kit k20-223-3 268/280 dur 477/480 lift

trans:
-stock 727 3 speed auto with mild shift kit
-3.54 gearing

wheels
-15 inch 255/60/15 goodrich t/a radials rear 27.1 inch tire height.

i think i covered the important stuff. with the above... what stall converter and maybe even brand would be recomended?? i could call the tech line but i want to hear from you guys.. thanks in advance.

A stock one would be fine with that cam in a stroker. It will be all done by about 4500-4800.

ok so what is the stall suppose to be on the stock converter?

If its a street car leave it alone with that small cam..if you race it set up on the carb, cam, heads and converter if you want to see real performance out of that stroker..
