74 dart sport
360 4 speed car
sunroof car
typical northeastern rust - bubbling quarters, pinholed floors
ok interior
360 ran when parked

is this that rare of a car?
whats it worth in your opinion
thanks!

well without pictures its hard to tell...if it was a factory 4 speed sunroof car it could be worth some cash fully restored

sorry about no pix.... but it has a buildsheet...

The year hurts, BUT the options help a bunch. I doubt that purchase plus restoration costs would make you any money, but it is rare enough to restore and use.

If it is cheap enough ,it would be worth fixing for a driver. but I dont think it will be worth putting a lot of money into, the value of these cars drop after 1972.

thanks for the replies...

i cant post pix right now, it's not mine, and If someone were to see the pix, it might not be... :(

still debating on weather or not to pick it up, it's not my cup oof tea, but it's fairly reasonable....

I cant find any info on these cars, or sunroof cars, but there cant be that many made.

what would you pay for it? if it were a driver, but needed resto...sorry about the lack of pix and details, i'd be interested in ballpark figures tho?
1 grand?
2 grand?

The Moonroof cars were known as "Convertriples".

Being that car has both the convertriple and probably the 360 Ralleye Pack option, it is probably the rarest of all the late model Darts (except maybe the Dart Lights).

360, 4 barrel, 2.94 gears, Sure grip and a wide ratio 4 spd.

Personally, that would be a really fun car. I'd love for mine to be a 4 spd.

If it runs, or at least has a rebuildable engine, I'd say it's worth $2K (to me anyway).

It is only a convertriple if it has a fold down back seat, and it should have at least 3.23
rear, maybe 3.55, and I'll bet it has a posi if it that well optioned.
very few 360 darts and dusters were ordered that year. and it may have been the quickest car available in '74

I'D GRAB IT IF I WERE YOU!!

I was under the impression that if it had the moonroof, it had the fold down seat...maybe not. I have not seen one otherwise. I'll check it when i get home, but I think the ad I have states the Ralleye pack as a "wide ratio 4 spd w/ 2.94 & limited slip". No doubt it would be better with 3.23s or 3.55s. The 2.94s could have been the "standard" gear ratio, with the others being an upgrade.

Here is a 74 for sale, with an automatic and "call for price on it" (granted, it looks pretty damn clean).

this car is a sunroof car
it has a 360 4 speed...
dont know wat gears are in it...

If this car is not "your cup of tea " I would think twice about it, from the sounds of the description the car is going to need a fair amount of work, that requires a lot of commitment on your part, in both time and money, many of these cars take two years or longer to bring back to decent shape ,not to mention the cost of the repairs. a total rebuild will cost at least $7000, or more depending on how bad it is now. some of us have twice that amount in our cars, so I would ask myself, is this worth 10 - 15k and a couple years of your time... ? I also live here in the northeast and have a very good idea of whats ahead of you. plan on 400 hours minimum to rebuild this car, and countless hours finding everything you need. if your looking to make money on this project ,forget it. but if you love these cars as many of us do then go for it. just about everyone here will tell you they have more time and money invested than they should. not trying to talk you out of doing this ,just a little info on the size of this undertaking.... on the other hand you can always do a quick patch job , and have a lot of fun just driving it. if you can do all of the work your self , rebuild the motor , fabricate some parts, have the ability ( or a friend that does) to weld , do the body work and paint the car..... then go for it, if not i would look out of this area for a rust free body and go from there. it will be more cost effective in the long run...... good luck !

i'm just trying to find out if this car has any value to it above and beyond the 74 dart sport that it is, since it seems rare.

74's usually dont draw alot of attnetion, but would a 360-4 speed sunroof car be any different?

the 360 four speed options help the cars value, without them its nothing special. in my opinion the sun roof isnt going to add any great value to the car, I am sure some people here will offer their opinions too....

Well, is it worth it TO YOU??

If you are looking at it strictly as a turnover/profit vehicle, you might want to look somewhere else. Ultimately it is still a late model Dart with a low compression motor (read: no real value).

If I were looking for a cheap A-body project car to keep for fun, I'd be all over it. I'd love to have a 4spd car.

Since I already have a convertriple, it's a moot point.:thumblef:
