whats this part??

went and replaced my broken speedo cable and i noticed it didnt go straight to trans, instead it went to this small thing.

this was located bit under of brake booster on driver side inner fender.

There is one black wire.

My car has 318 904 a/c ps pb stock gauges


So whats this part?

What make and model of car? Is it a speed sensor for cruise control? Personally I have never seen an A body with factory cruise, but it is possible that it had an aftermarket cruise setup....

Oh a forgot.

it 1972 plymouth duster.

Thats what i thought first, but car dosen't have any cruise control controls, and i haven't find any other cruise control parts on my car.

WHAT YEAR is your car?

Some cars in the '70's had a smog control device part of the NOX controls I believe "on there" on the cable

I think it turned on a dash lamp at 70 mph to indicate inefficient/wasting fuel.

That is a part of the emissions they had my 71 Duster which was made in California

Was it mounted on the drivers side inside fender about 6-8 inches from the firewall?

yep its looks like part of emission system.
I have removed most of that stuff anyway, so that can go too.
