From an old 64 instrument panel, I think it goes on the 12v line from the ignition switch to the voltage limiter. So if you have the voltage limiter in the fuel gauge, it would go on that stud from the 12 volt source.

This is one a 63 Valiant forgot to put on here Thanks it's been Aug. since i have worked on it been sick bad heart

Electrically this is correct. One of the three gauge studs is 12V which is power going into the voltage limiter unit in the gauge

Second of the three is the output of the limiter internally, which feeds "out" to the other gauges

Third stud goes to the sender.
