Where is all your car stuff going when you go to heaven?

I'll turn the operation over to these guys in 10-15 years. They love fast, old cars. My wife likes them too so they get from both sides : D

When I am in the arms of Almighty God I know I have completed my journey! I’m pretty sure what’s going on down here will be the least of my concerns! Thank you Jesus!

Your not leaving anything to your kids? I don't know how it is where you live but here in Missouri a will can be contested.
As long as you mention them and leave them $1.00
It's hard to contest, using the he didn't mention me in the will, so he wasn't of sound mind.

Even that can still leave grounds to contest the will. I have a lawyer in my family. Any reason can be used, how much can be done about it depends on what the person wants to spend on attorney fee's. A good friend of mine was sued by his sister because she didn't like how their parents wrote their will. To save time and money, best way is to have everything POD and TOD. The paperwork at the bank doesn't cost you anything and it only cost me $75 for the paperwork for the house because the state of Missouri wouldn't accept anything done on the computer.

Payable and Transferable on Death. Have issues unto themselves. They are not the be all to end all. It's like trying to open a safety deposit box to claim owner ship of a deceased. An IRS agent must be present before the bank can allow you to access it.
The person who is assigned to be Executer of the will
Has to probate it and any bills have to be payed first. Even POD And TOD can be contested. Been there done that. So let's say you have a POD or TOD but the person who had Power of attorney closed all the financial accounts and transfers them as well as sold all the other assets like property to themselves for $1.00 then resold it for actual value. The people holding the pod or TOD. Good luck.
Now back to the original discussion.

In our family, there was no need for a POA, that's what the TOD and POD are for, once you put the person (s) name on the documents it's a done deal. I've never heard of anyone contesting those. But I understand that every state is different.

Any bills due were paid from the checking account, life insurance money. All I'm saying is that a will can be more trouble.

Every circumstance is different.
Funeral prepaid outstanding debts. Taxes.
Anyway let's get the thread back on the original topic.

see dan, this is why you get beat on. your inability to just STFU about some topic you have a limited amount of info on.

just drop it already. it's not relevant to the discussion at hand!

I don’t understand the “I’ll call the crusher, metal shredder, etc”. Why destroy it because you died?

Donate it to a high school or trade school with auto shop. They will appreciate it, young guns can train on classics, and the program can sell/raffle it off. It’s a win/win and you will have a great memorial.

i meant in general, that's why people pile on. it's a pattern with him. he can't just leave something be and walk away.

slice of ham says he comes back and says something else.

I have a son, two granddaughters and another grand baby (will find out if boy or girl the day they come) on the way.
My son likes both of my cars, my oldest grand daughter has an attachment to my Dart and the youngest granddaughter just thinks papaw's old cars are cool.
My son will be left everything. He has been told how to handle things after I'm gone. The house that I live in and the rental property are his. He's to keep both and collect rent from them.
He can sell when the last of the grand-kids have either graduated college or married.
The cars are up to him to do with as he wishes. I'm not real sure what he'll do, but I feel like he'll keep them.
I hope that I'll be out of the parts business before I kick the bucket. I don't need to hassle anyone with that stuff.
Tools and equipment can be sold or my son can have them. If this this coming baby is a boy, they're his.
Regardless, my son and the grand daughter that I raised (not his) will each get 30% the remainder 40% goes to the grand-kids to be split between. My daughter gets $20 and nothing more.

Good bud had a very successful Hollywood actor Grandfather from the 30's as my buds mother remarried and his last name was changed the Grandfather left him $ 1 in his Will to settle any disputes. As the only heir it's amazing as it could have been 10's of Millions of 80's buckaroo. Just saying.

One my kids hopefully will sell my bs at going price as I'm sure some stuff is or was pricey used Mopar goodies lol.

I just inherited a 350m2 factory, dads race cars and few projects. One race car is earmarked for my 4 year old and one for my 6 year old. In his words so the boys can race when they are older. The 350m2 was full to the brim i have got rid of 2 9m cube bins of rubbish and 12m cube of steel. Sold lot of the machinery and all the spare parts not required are going interstate to one of his race friends. The money made goes to mum. I know run my construction company from the factory and feel like i am with him every day
When you walk in people think they at the wrong factory as i am in construction..... i am slowly working my way through the factory as you can see epoxy coating the floors, paint etc etc. Even all the man cave items are original, the castrol oil bottles are from when he actually used them etc etc

The office was typical mechanic office just junk everywhere found his old race helmet even his bathurst trophy which is Australian most famous race whcih all on display etc.

I’m currently trying to help a family liquidate their dads estate full of cars, parts and all manner of automobilia. The dads been gone for 8 years, there are 5 siblings. Nobody wants to do anything but me, and they won’t let me do anything but fight about it and then nothing gets done. There’s about $500k worth of vehicles, property and the home, you think that would be motivation, but for some reason, it’s not. Don’t be like them, it’s too overwhelming when it gets to the point of overwhelming. That’s when the scrapyard is called.

Its was 2017 and a grandkid was starting college 200 or so miles from home. Poor as a church mouse, a little help from a walk on football scholarship. I gave him a 80 something Dodge 1/2 t. pickup slant, 4 speed OD. Good running truck, just needed a new slave cylinder. I gave $1000 for it. Well, he did not want it. Would not get good enough mileage. OK I get that.
I had a Mopar bud about 20 mi. down the road, a truck guy. His old dad was well into his 70s wanted bad it but was hurting for cash. I sold him the truck for $700 and gave the money to the grandkid. The old feller was excited, the grandkid probably figured better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. He graduated 4 years later with a degree in petroleum engineering. No telling what his student debt is, but that's his row to he.
I will kick the bucket (hopefully) with one old classic the wife can sell, and just a small box of spare parts for it. No one else will want it and that's fine. Someone will.
