OK so if any one has been keeping up I have a lot done to my truck. I got my tach installed. I set my red line at 3k just by feel and sound. Is this where I should be?

You can't make a stock slant hit redline.

I agree with all of you
Redline stock, conservatively, is 5000-5500 rpm. As said, its almost impossible for a stock slant to breath hard enough to hit that. As said, shift whena apower jumps off the cliff.

Just for drill, a 70 slant (225) is shown as 145 hp @ 4000 RPM so it probably won't pay to rev it much over that. 65 "stick" 170 is shown as 101 hp at 4500
