Should I upgrade from my current intake. My current intake is a weiand 7507 to a edelbrock airgap or something else i also have a holley strip dominator but I don't think it's really a good street intake. I want this car to drive good on the street but still have some power and look good. I like the look of the dominator but don't think it's a good street intake.
The engine is a 340 30 over low compression pistons with 202 j heads and possibly a small cam. And I have a few carbs for it but am using a edelbrock 1406 600

I'm sure the overwhelming answer will be Edelbrock Airgap at 426 bucks. A Weiand Stealth 8022 at 380 is also very good. A dual plane for street use. That strip dominator is just that.

I've also seen that speed master makes a very similar intake to the airgap and have thought about it or finding a edelbrock used instead of new

Alright so I thought more about it and figured I should probably do a cam or something that's not to expensive (600 or below) to see some power. So what's a good upgrade that I would notice more then the intake. I've thought about a cam or pistons as both are stock. The pistons are 30 over just low compression style (4 value reliefs)

What do you use the car for? And what rear gear now??

the car is used for mostly street driving and i believe the gear is 323 or lower in an8 3/4 i would like to drag race the car but not all the time just here and there

Keep the Weiand. A highly underrated intake. If you don’t mind doing some port work yourself, then I’d just match it and go as deep as you can.

3.90 gears are available for your 8-1/4 for a couple hundred bucks plus setup.....itll ruin your gas mileage if you care about such things and the car will be a blast to drive and drag.
Dont forget to do a proper tuneup and put some water in that radiator lol.

The ports at the head are easiest to do.
The plenum mods are a bit tougher.
This is a good intake as is.

really dont want to spend money on the rearend as ive thought about mini tubbing it with an 8.8 that i already have its 373 gears and is 56.5 wide compared to 57 1/8. and i still have small bolt pattern on the rear and axels for big are expensive also the 8.8 is posi and ,y current isn't
