which port for oil temp sending unit?

Does it matter which port I use for an oil temperature sender? Or do I need a T for pressure sender and temp sender?

Either will do it i believe...I used one for gauge and the other for an idiot light i wired up. It was a 440 though...pretty sure it's the same deal.
 
If it's a small block, use a tee. The pic looks to be a big block
 
I agree with the above... the oil temp sensor really does need to go in the pan if you want real data from it.

Bought the bung which needs to be welded into the pan. Should be the best way to go. Would have preferred to put it in the drain plug hole but haven't found an adapter for the Autometer sending probe. Don't see why one wouldn't be available. Oh well.
