One side of these intake gaskets are blue embossed, or whatever it's called, the other side has nothing. The instructions don't mention it, and I don't see anything on the web. Which side goes up? I would think it matters; why would they bother doing one side? It's an aluminum manifold on iron heads, if it matters.
This is a 360, but it could be anything with this type of gasket, I suppose.

Printoseal(blue) up.
Thanks for that, 4spdragtop. Now that you've supplied the name, "print-o-seal", I find it searching. I used the standard gaskets before. These match my ported heads perfectly. I bought the engine used, so maybe the builder matched the ports to the 1213's. Who knows? I'm happy!

Glad to help! Good luck with the build!

And when you install them, make sure you have the end of the gasket with the opening for the coolant crossover towards the front. Those gaskets don't have openings at both ends, so if you don't pay attention you'll be wondering why your engine overheats so badly...

If that is the case you can't have the blue up on both sides, unless they are stamped for left and right?

If you're talking about this (almost) square hole, yes, it does have them at each end.
