I've looked at over a hundred engines for sale over the past year for a 1971 slant six, and not one of them was a 1971. What's going on with 1971 engines? Alot of them were made, but none exist today for sale....

That's strange for sure. If you are looking for a specific year, I would suggest a Parts Wanted ad instead of relying on other's sale ads which haven't been working in your favor.

My 71 Duster had a 198. Many mistakes for a 225. I am a big fan of the good 'ol Slant.Sorry to say that not many care and by now most are scrapped.

Not that I’m ready to rip it out yet. However, I may plan to V8 swap my 71’ duster slant six in the future I have everything to swap but I’m enjoying the slant for now. I’ll keep you in mind in case you can’t find one.

If you're going by casting numbers, keep in mind that a late '70 casting (August +, or so) is also correct for a '71 model year body, especially an early build date.

Check with Bridger Bollinger over on the FM&J site, when I was there a couple of years ago he had a large amount of slantys.

You are too far away. I have a 71 casting in a 72 Dart right now. Not worth the expense.

Didn’t slant 6 production run from the 60s through the late 80s? Find any old slant and drop it in. Are you restoring a slant 6 car? Seems cost prohibitive.

Ya, I'm looking for the correct engine, 1971.
