WEll as I attempt to help my oldest sun and do a rotor and bearings and brake job on his truck he just picked up!! My grand children and family will be driving or riding in, I new it would be 70+ degs out side I could save them some cash and do it my self.
My son picked up all the parts and I woke up delivered my intake to ship out and got me some breakfast. good so far eh!!
Well first thing I do is remove everything on the drivers side and The seal to the inner bearing is the wrong one.#-o
Drive back to town and traded for the correct ones.
Packed bearings and installed rotor and they sent Two right hand calipers with mikey too:angry1:.

Bake to town!!:banghead: and traded for the correct left hand and got it installed.
They was very embarrass to see me re-arive ..
Then I move to the right side and here is what I found.:binky:

A blessing that you found that before it caused an accident.
All about your point of view. :)
If that was an early A with KH brakes
it might take weeks to find a good used spindle.
Part houses force me to 3 visits too.
1. "Come pay for the part and we'll order it."
2. Go have a GRRrrr at the WRONG PART !
3. Go once more to get the part.

They other side was fine and then my son came in after work thinking he was going to drive it home!! Not.:bootysha:
Moew money for parts son!! and :clock:

Good job Grandpappy Mike! Good thing you got on that for your son and his family!!!!:cheers:Those wheel bearing were toast, accident waiting to happen!

Mike, pat yourself on the back for helping out the family and perhaps saving them from an accident getting ready to happen!! Good job!

Good catch Mike!
I know what you mean as far as trips to the parts house. Although it has got much better since I started dealing with one place all the time. They let me do the look-up on their 'puter, so I am sure I am getting the right part. If not, it's my fault. LOL

A good man at our salvage yard pulled this part and charged me $35.00.
I gave the parts puler a $5.00 tip and came home and installed it.:clock:
I found out way it was so trashed. Who ever dun this leaved out the washer
you see in the picture and you can see the spun keeper on the left.:bootysha:
So I went to the old home place and pulled one off the gray 1/8 mile truck.
Creed will finish this up for me!! I am pooped8)8)
