Pictures?
Yes Agree here, Make it tastefully your's.
Think it can look better than the factory color if you do it right. Here is an example of a friend of mine Jim's 74 rust free body Dart Swinger, before and after pictures. I think the after picture is just awesome. He is a professional body man and painter and he was saying that he was going to put a Killer Paint Job on that Dart. Well I guess he did . . .

I don't think there is even any comparison, I like the custom color choice here way better than the factory green. Fortunately he had a nice Tan factory original interior color that worked well with his color change.
The new color even has just a tad of Pearl in it, and the windows were lightly tinted.
Tastefully Done . . .
So I am considering buying a buddies 1971 Demon. It’s on original triple f7 H code car with the original white side and rear stripe. It has the original 340 motor, but has a 727 instead of the a904.
Body is clean, interior is beat up, defiantly needs a repaint. Would I kill the value and history of the car to change the color? I was thinking Green Go or Sublime green. Not many H code cars that I see for sale anymore but I just never liked f7.
If done "properly" a color change for a green or brown type color can actually add value.
I don't think a color change would hurt the value as much as an incorrect engine for instance in this case. What makes a car valuable in the first place? The trim tag, not so much what engine or tranny, or even color it has when you buy it. Would a 68 or 69 Hemi Cuda be less valuable if someone put a small block in it? Not likely.True but I don’t want to destroy any value the car has since it’s still mostly original. I value your guys opinions and advice thank you
It's your car. But a color change on a Mopar is a big deal - like you might as well restore it big. Jambs, engine bay, trunk... It all has to come apart for it or it looks like carp and a quickie deal. Ultimately when you sell it, the buyer will use it against you. If you want a real Hi Impact color - and you have interest in selling it down the road - find one and buy it. Otherwise either do it half *** and lose a bunch of value, or spend a boatload, do it right, and never get that back when you sell it.
personally i think it would look great F7 green... the go green or lime green is way too over done in my opinion..
will it kill the value? hard to say. being a 340 car the ones that bring the most would be as original as possible in most cases. but F7 would also turn some buyers off the lime green may open up to more buyers. guess in the end its up to you but i'd keep the F7 if it was mine...

Really I, wrongly, assumed since the fender tag had d34 and said light duty automatic transmission that was the a904
. If that's the correct fender tag and it does have D34 as the transmission code, the car is not an original H code car. D34 designates the 904 transmission
D31 is a 904
D34 & D36 are 727
That's not what I'm finding online.......BUT this is also something I know very little about so I sure as HELL aint arguin about it.
D32 is a 727 hd for a big block
